Articles on Digital Literacy

On Thursday a few of us from the system participated in the Digital Literacy: a Free Train the Trainer Program.  It was very helpful and provided material including a lesson book and a zip drive containing all the pertinent information to those in attendance.  I will send out the material I received to anyone interested.  Please feel free to contact me at blee@4cls.org or 607-723-8236 ext. 304.

I am also searching for other materials to help with digital literacy from the perspective of library staff.  I will post hyperlinks to online materials.  For journal articles I will search under OmniFile Full Text Select available on our Research Center page under General Periodical, you will need your library card.  I have set up a My EbscoHost account named Brian’s Folder which will have the articles.  To find them click on Sign In with User Name : fcls, followed by Password : Vestal.  You will find the Folder icon at the top right of the page.

Training Opportunities

With the changing pace of technology and the growing expectations of patrons, library staff are always on the lookout for new information to help us perform the task of today as well as tomorrow.   In an effort to help us keep abreast of upcoming webinars and workshops we will be compiling a list of those in the future which may be of interest to you.  They will be placed under Training Opportunities which is located within the 4CLS Support & Information tab.

Each listing will include a hyperlink to the page with a description of the event as well as registration information.  The list will be updated weekly and will include regional and national programs.
